socks in a purse

a colorful, but content-light post today.

2 pairs of "purse socks" that i recently knit. Each pair is from 220 yds of my handpainted sock yarn.

currently on the needles: Falling Leaves in Socks that Rock (color lovelite? will check the label at home).

I've got a long/involved rant/story that i want to tell, but that will wait for this weekend. Ciao!

I'm knitting my first sock (cheap practice cotton) and starting to research future sock yarns. What do you like about the Socks that Rock yarn? Obviously, the colorways are tremendous. How does the yarn feel? If you were knitting plain white socks, would you still use this yarn?

Hi Kim -
I've knit two pairs of socks with STR, and i've loved them both. The colors are exceptionally beautiful. Really vibrant and very evently dyed. Even though i dye my own sock yarn, it was a really nice luxury treat to buy this skein for myself.

the yarn itself is very high quality, really nice yarn. Very soft, very lofty "squooshy", and smooth. Another thing is that its skeined really well. Its a subtle thing, but other people have noticed it as well. its winds off into balls /really/ easily.

It is expensive, and i believe that you could probably find plain white sock yarn of equivalent quality for less. not sure what yarn they use for their base. But i think the richness and beauty of the colors are what make STR really special.
