maybe i should knit that cat bed now.

In our house we have:
- 1 double-bedded cat castle
- 1 ikea cat tent
- 1 human bed
- 2 office chairs
- 4 padded dining room chairs
- a couch
- a comfy armchair
- 1 persian carpet
- pile of dirty laundry
- pile of clean laundry
- several closets full of clothes

On most days the cats are content to sleep on any of these things. Or they might be found napping in other ingenious places - like above the fridge.

Unless i'm blocking something. If the blocking board is out, this is where they will always sleep:

I do believe that even if you knit them the catbed, they will prefer to sleep on the blocking board. They're your cats - it is in their nature to be contrary

I second beaner's comment! My cats seem to really love mohair though so I'm considering how to make a cat bed out of kidsilk haze!

There's a reason the author of Garfield asserts that CAT! is Caveman for 'Darn it!' :)

Short of making a decoy blocking board to use only when you're blocking sweater bits, I'm not sure if there IS a solution. Cats seem to like knitted and crocheted textures and go out of their way to sit on them. I knit Mom a sweater last year, and she has to be very careful where she puts it away... or else Susie will steal the sweater OUT OF THE CLOSET and drag it off to sleep on. :)

Adorable picture, though... and gorgeous dress!
